Scholarship applications being accepted for Missouri Winter Fire School

Philip Sayer Memorial Scholarships earmarked for volunteer firefighters and officers

The Missouri Fire Education Advisory Commission has earmarked funding for scholarships to attend Missouri Winter Fire School in Columbia in February 2016. Each awarded scholarship will provide tuition for up to 12 hours of training. 

Winter Fire School will be held Feb. 5-7, 2016. All applicants must:

Select one to three classes for no more than a total of 12 hours in length.

Be recommended by the chief of the firefighter's department.

Have at least one year of documented fire service experience.

Be at least 18-years-old.

Preference will be given to firefighters seeking basic skills training who have not previously received a scholarship. No more than three applications will be considered per fire department.

Completed scholarship applications, MUFRTI Winter Fire School applications, and any supporting material must be received no later than Jan. 8, 2016.
